Risk-Free Booking — Your Money Is Protected

Risk-Free Booking — Your Money Is Protected

We understand that booking a trek halfway around the world requires trust. You're sending money to a company in Nepal, planning months in advance, and hoping everything goes smoothly. That's a lot to ask.

So here's our promise: we've removed every financial risk from booking with The Everest Holiday. If something goes wrong, you're protected.

The 10% Deposit System

You don't pay the full amount upfront. You pay just 10% to secure your spot — processed through Himalayan Bank Limited, Nepal's most trusted commercial bank, established in 1993. Your payment is handled by a regulated financial institution, not a random PayPal account.

The remaining 90% isn't due until 60 days before departure. That gives you months to plan, prepare, and make sure everything is right before committing the balance.

Why this matters: Most Nepal trekking companies ask for 30-50% upfront, often through unregulated channels. We ask for 10%, through a bank. That's how confident we are that you'll want to go ahead.

Our Cancellation Policy

When You Cancel What You Get Back
60+ days before departure Full deposit refund minus $50 administrative fee
30-60 days before departure 50% of your deposit refunded
Under 30 days before departure No refund, but we will reschedule your trek to any future date at no extra cost

Life happens. Flights get cancelled. Family emergencies arise. We've been running treks since 2016 and we've seen it all. Our policy is designed to be fair to you while covering the costs we've already committed on your behalf (permits, guide bookings, accommodation deposits).

What Happens If We Cancel

If we cancel your trek for any reason — weather, political situation, natural disaster, insufficient group size — you receive a full 100% refund of everything you've paid. No questions, no delays, no small print.

We can also reschedule you to a different date or a different trek of equal value, whichever you prefer.

Travel Insurance — Your Safety Net

We require all trekkers to carry comprehensive travel insurance that covers:

  • Helicopter evacuation to the altitude of your trek (up to 6,000m for most treks)

  • Medical treatment in Nepal and repatriation to your home country

  • Trip cancellation for covered reasons (illness, injury, family emergency)

This isn't optional — it's mandatory. And it protects you far beyond what our cancellation policy covers. If you fall ill before departure or during the trek, your insurance handles the costs that we can't.

Need help finding the right policy? We recommend World Nomads or Safety Wing for trekkers. Our team can advise based on your nationality and trek altitude.

Secure Payment — How It Works

When you click "Book Now" on any trek page, here's exactly what happens:

  1. You fill in your details and select your preferred dates

  2. You choose your package tier (Budget, Standard, or Luxury)

  3. You're redirected to Himalayan Bank Limited's secure payment gateway

  4. You enter your card details on HBL's encrypted page — we never see your card number

  5. Payment is processed and you're returned to our site with a booking confirmation

  6. You receive a confirmation email within minutes

The brief redirect to HBL's payment page is required by Nepal Rastra Bank (Nepal's central bank) for all international card transactions. It's the same system used by Nepal Airlines, major hotels, and government services. Your data is protected by bank-grade encryption.

Alternative payment: We also accept bank transfers via Wise (formerly TransferWise). Contact us on WhatsApp for transfer details.
