Why I built it this way

This is the trip for people who want a real Himalayan trek and the two big Pokhara adventures, in six days and without flying to Lukla. Day 1 is the Sarangkot sunrise and a tandem paragliding flight. Then four days on the Poon Hill trek, the classic first trek in Nepal, with the sunrise from Poon Hill at 3,210 m. Day 6 is the 80 m bungee jump, before you leave Pokhara.

It is our Poon Hill trek, 4 days from Pokhara with the adventure days added at each end. You never sleep higher than 2,860 m, the lodges are close together, and the first trek day climbs about 3,000 stone steps to Ulleri, so poles help. If you would rather skip the adrenaline, the four-day trek is sold on its own. Read Poon Hill Trek Itinerary: 4 and 5 Day Options, Day by Day and Pokhara Adventure Activities Compared: Paragliding, Bungee, Zipline and What to Book First first.

It starts and ends in Pokhara. We can book your flight or tourist bus from Kathmandu, and the night before day 1 as an add-on. Every booking helps pay the teacher's salary at our Nagarjun Learning Center in Saldum. The Everest Holiday is a family company founded in 2016, from three generations of guiding in the Himalayas.

Best time to go, month by month

You pay a 10% deposit to book and the balance in Kathmandu or online. We take US dollars or euros, in cash or by card. We cover the card fee on the deposit. If you pay the balance by card it carries a 3.5% bank charge, and cash has no fee.

Getting there and getting back

The trip starts at your Pokhara hotel before dawn on day 1, so you arrive in Pokhara the day before. Pokhara is a 25-minute flight or about seven hours by tourist bus from Kathmandu, and we can book either. On day 2 we drive to Nayapul and walk; on day 5 the vehicle meets you at Ghandruk. We check road conditions 48 hours before departure. If a road is not open, we move your dates free of charge.

Visa on arrival is USD 30 for 15 days or USD 50 for 30 days, and your passport must be valid for at least six months. Read Nayapul: The Trailhead for Poon Hill, Annapurna Base Camp and Khopra Danda for the trailhead.

Safety and altitude

Paragliding and bungee jumping run only in safe weather. If the wind or rain stops them, we move you to the next safe slot or another day of the trip. Tandem flights are flown by certified pilots, and the bungee team checks your weight, harness and footwear. You are never pushed to jump or fly.

Limits: the bungee is for ages 10 and over, between 35 and 125 kg, with closed shoes. Paragliding operators set a weight limit of about 100 kg. Tell us about any heart, back, neck or blood-pressure problem, or a pregnancy, before you book. Buy travel insurance at home that names paragliding and bungee jumping.

On the trek your guide checks your oxygen level every day. You sleep no higher than 2,860 m, so altitude sickness is unlikely, but tell your guide at once if you feel unwell.

What to pack

  • Closed shoes with a good grip (needed for the bungee and the paragliding launch)
  • A warm layer for the Sarangkot sunrise, which is cold before dawn
  • Sun hat, SPF 50 sun cream and sunglasses
  • A light rain jacket
  • A small daypack with water
  • Cash for tea, snacks and photos at the bungee site
  • Trekking boots worn in before the trip, and trekking poles for the stone steps

Questions people ask

What is included in this trip?
A tandem paragliding flight with photos and video, the Sarangkot sunrise, the four-day Poon Hill trek with your guide, lodges, permits, two Pokhara hotel nights, the 80 m bungee jump and, on Standard and Luxury, all meals. Porters depend on the tier.
How much does it cost?
For a couple, the price per person is USD 655 Budget, USD 1,020 Standard and USD 1,455 Luxury. A solo traveller pays USD 1,005, USD 1,360 and USD 2,165. The price falls for larger groups, down to USD 365, USD 690 and USD 1,105 for 13 to 20 guests. These are our 2027 prices. If we have already quoted you a price in writing, we hold it.
How hard is the Poon Hill part?
It is one of the easiest of the classic Annapurna treks. You walk 3 to 6 hours a day on stone steps, with about 3,000 steps on the first day, and sleep no higher than 2,860 m. You reach 3,210 m on Poon Hill for the sunrise.
Who can do the bungee and the paragliding?
The bungee is for ages 10 and over, between 35 and 125 kg, with closed shoes. Paragliding operators set a weight limit of about 100 kg. Tell us about any health condition before you book.
What if the weather stops the flight or the jump?
Both run only when it is safe. If the wind stops the flight on day 1, we try again on day 5 or 6. If the weather stops an activity for the whole trip, we move it to another date.
Why is the paragliding first and the bungee last?
The flight needs clear, calm mornings, and doing it first leaves days to try again. The jump is a good way to finish, and it does not depend on the views.
When is the best time to go in 2027?
October and November for clear skies and good flying, and late March to April for rhododendrons on Poon Hill. June to mid September is monsoon, and the activities often stop for rain.
Do I need to be in Pokhara the night before?
Yes, because day 1 starts before dawn. We can book that night as an add-on, and the flight or tourist bus from Kathmandu.
Is it safe for children?
The bungee is for ages 10 and over, so that is the minimum age for the whole trip. Poon Hill suits fit children who can walk three to six hours a day. A child pays the same as an adult.
Can I do it alone?
Yes. You trek with your own licensed guide. On Standard a solo trekker has no porter and the guide carries up to 10 kg. A solo traveller pays the real cost of a room and a guide alone.
Can I skip one of the activities?
Yes. Tell us when you book and we price the trip without it, or book the four-day Poon Hill trek on its own.
How do I pay?
You pay a 10% deposit to book and the balance in Kathmandu or online. We take US dollars or euros, in cash or by card. We cover the card fee on the deposit. If you pay the balance by card it carries a 3.5% bank charge. Cash carries none. We cannot take Nepali rupees from foreign guests.
What happens if I need to cancel, or you cannot run the trip?
If we cannot run your trip, we refund what you have paid, less taxes, bank or card charges and any money already spent on your behalf, or move you to another date. If you cancel yourself, the deposit is not refundable, but you can reschedule free to any date within one year with at least 72 hours' notice.
Do I need travel insurance?
Yes. Buy travel insurance at home, before you travel, and check that it covers trekking to 3,500 m, paragliding, bungee jumping and helicopter evacuation. We do not recommend insurance bought in Nepal.
