Panchase is a forested ridge south-west of Pokhara, and a place of pilgrimage for Hindus. This three-day trek starts with a boat across Phewa Lake, climbs through forest to Bumdi, follows the ridge to Panchase Bhanjyang, and finishes with sunrise on Panchase peak before the drive back to Pokhara.

It suits guests who want a quiet walk with mountain views and no high altitude, and who have only a few days. The lodges on this ridge are simple, even on Luxury.

Why book with The Everest Holiday

Three Generations of Family Guides

Family-run since 2016 with three generations of guiding heritage. Not an agency — the family that runs the company leads your trek personally.

Essential Information

Before you go

  • Altitude: the highest point is about 2,500 m and you sleep no higher than about 2,070 m, so altitude is not a concern for most people.
  • Lodges: the lodges on this ridge are simple. Luxury gives you the best room available at each one, which is often basic.
  • Insurance: your policy should cover trekking to 2,500 m, including helicopter rescue.
  • Fitness: you need to be able to walk for several hours a day on steps and uneven ground. No technical skill is needed.
  • Packing: a day pack, warm layers for the evenings, good walking shoes, a rain jacket and a head torch. We send a full packing list when you book.
  • Hotel nights before and after the trek are not included, so we can fit them to your own dates. We can book them for you.
  • Documents: bring your passport.

FAQs

It is an easy to moderate trek on forest paths, with walking days of about three to five hours and no high altitude. You sleep no higher than about 2,070 m.
On a clear morning, yes. The weather decides, and the monsoon months are often cloudy.
An Annapurna Conservation Area permit and a TIMS card. We arrange both and the cost is in your price.
Simple. On this ridge the lodges are basic hill lodges, and even on Luxury you get the best room available at each one, which is often plain.
Yes. Your guide, and your porters on Standard and Luxury, are for your party only. We never add strangers to a private booking.
The route is the same. Budget gives you a guide, simple lodges with shared rooms and the permits and transport, with no porter and no meals. Standard adds one porter for every two trekkers, a private room where the lodge has one and all meals. Luxury gives each trekker a dedicated porter, the best room available at each lodge (often simple on this ridge) and all meals with fruit, nuts and unlimited soft drinks.
If we cannot run your trip, we refund what you have paid, less taxes, bank or card charges and any money already spent on your behalf, or move you to another date. Plans change? You can reschedule free to any date within one year with at least 72 hours' notice. The deposit itself is not refunded if you cancel.
Yes. Buy travel insurance at home, before you travel, and check that it covers trekking, emergency helicopter rescue and the dates of your trip. Your cover should include trekking to 5,000 m. We do not recommend insurance bought in Nepal.
