Hot Air Balloon Flight in Pokhara is a 1-day activity: you float over the Lauruk and Pame valley for about 30 minutes, weather permitting, on a morning or evening flight. It costs USD 150 per person for foreign passport holders, USD 120 for SAARC and Chinese passport holders. The price is the same for a private booking and a group, and the same on all three options.

Why I sell it
Most people who come to Pokhara jump off something: a hill with a paraglider, or a bridge with a rope. A balloon is the quiet one. You drift, you look down. It suits couples, families and anyone who wants to see the valley without shouting into the wind.
We sell it at the operator's own public price, so booking with us costs you nothing extra. What we add is the booking itself: we confirm the slot, collect your passport copy, arrange the pick-up and look after you if the weather changes the plan. What happens on the day
We pick you up from your Lakeside hotel (the take-off point is within about 2 km of Lakeside) and drive you to the flight. You fly for about 30 minutes over the Lauruk and Pame valley, if the weather allows. Afterwards we bring you back to your hotel and you receive a flight certificate. Passenger insurance for the flight (CAAN) is included.
Morning or evening
There are two morning flights (a first and a second slot) and an evening flight. Tell us your preference when you book and we will ask for it. Whether a flight goes at all depends on the weather on the day, and the operator makes that call.
Prices for 2027
The price per person is USD 150 for foreign passport holders and USD 120 for SAARC and Chinese passport holders, for a group of one or twenty. It is the same on all three options, because the flight is the same flight. A child pays the same as an adult. These are our 2027 prices. If we have already quoted you a price in writing, we hold it.

Not included: your hotel in Pokhara, getting to Pokhara, meals, travel insurance, tips and personal spending. You pay a 10% deposit to book and the balance in Pokhara before your flight or online. We take US dollars or euros, in cash or by card. We cover the card fee on the deposit. If you pay the balance by card it carries a 3.5% bank charge, and cash has no fee. We cannot take Nepali rupees from foreign guests.
Getting to Pokhara
Pokhara is a 25-minute flight or about seven hours by tourist bus from Kathmandu. We can book either for you. Our Pokhara city day tour and Pokhara adventure tour fit well with a balloon flight.
Before you fly
- We need a copy of your passport by email before the flight. It is mandatory, and we will ask you for it when you book.
- Children under 3 are not allowed.
- Wear sneakers and high socks, trousers you can move in, and a cap or hat. Bring layers.
- Boarding is at the operator's discretion, so listen to the crew.
The three options
There is only one balloon flight, so all three options are the same flight at the same price. The option you choose only matters if you add a hotel or transfers to your booking.
