Annapurna Base Camp Group Departure, 21 March 2027 (Guaranteed)
Updated 18 October 2026.
Short answer: Our Annapurna Base Camp trek leaves Kathmandu on 21 March 2027 and is guaranteed to run. One trekker has already booked and paid a deposit, so the date is not waiting on numbers. You can join, share the guide and walk with company. The trek is 9 days, you stand at Annapurna Base Camp (4,130 m) on day 5, and you are back in Kathmandu on 29 March. Per person it is USD 725 on Budget, USD 1,310 on Standard and USD 2,095 on Luxury in a group of two to four, and it gets cheaper as the group grows.
I am Shreejan. Many people ask me whether a date will really go ahead or whether I will cancel it for lack of numbers. For this one the answer is simple. It runs. If nobody else joins, one person still walks it with a guide. If you join, you keep the same route and the same standards, and you share the cost of the guide.

What is March really like on this trail?
March is a good month, but it is not a warm one up high. I would rather you know before you pack.
- The lower forest between Ghandruk and Chomrong starts to flower. Rhododendrons come into bloom in March and April, so you may see red and pink on the trail. How many depends on the year.
- Days are long and mostly sunny.
- Nights are cold. Our own month-by-month page puts a typical night low at base camp around minus 9 degrees Celsius in March. That is a guide from past years, not a forecast. Deurali and base camp are the coldest nights.
- There can be snow near base camp and on the moraine path. Early in the month there is more of it. Your guide decides each morning whether it is safe to go up, and his call is final.
More detail is in Annapurna Base Camp in spring and in best time, month by month. For the kit list, see what to bring, lend and leave. If you have no sleeping bag or down jacket, we lend them.

Message me and I will give you the exact figure for your tier. Kathmandu hotel nights are not in any trek tier, so I quote them separately. The Pokhara hotel with breakfast is included.
Prices are the ones on the trip page today. Permits (ACAP and TIMS) are included, and so are the guide, transfers and first aid with a pulse oximeter. For the full list, see the trip page. For what you will spend on top, read the full cost breakdown.
How do I join, and how does payment work?
You message me, we agree your tier, and you pay a deposit of 10 per cent. You pay the balance in Kathmandu, in US dollars or euros. Cash carries no fee. Card carries a 3.5 per cent bank charge. We do not take Nepali rupees from foreign guests.
The deposit is non-refundable, and there is no refund if you cancel yourself. What I can do is move your trip free of charge to any date within one year, with at least 72 hours notice. If we cannot run the trip ourselves, we refund what you have paid, less taxes, bank or card charges and any money already spent on permits and flights. I am telling you this now so there are no surprises later.
Frequently asked questions
Is the 21 March 2027 departure really guaranteed? Yes. One trekker has already booked and paid a deposit, so it runs whether or not anyone else joins. I will not cancel it for numbers.
Can I join if I want Budget and someone else has Standard or Luxury? Yes. Every tier is welcome on this date. You walk the same route with the same guide. What changes is your room, meals, porter and vehicle.
How cold will it be in March? Cold at night, from Deurali up. Our past-years figure for base camp in March is about minus 9 degrees Celsius at night. Days are sunny and comfortable while you walk. Bring a down jacket, a warm hat and gloves.
Will there be snow? Possibly near base camp, and more in early March. Your guide checks the trail each morning and decides whether to go up.
Which permits do I need, and what do they cost? The Annapurna Conservation Area permit (NPR 3,000) and a TIMS card (NPR 2,000). We buy both and they are in your price. Read Annapurna Base Camp permits explained.
Do I need travel insurance? Yes, bought at home. It must cover trekking to 4,500 m and helicopter rescue. Rescue costs are paid through your insurance.
