Shreejan Simkhada is the CEO and co-founder of The Everest Holiday, a third-generation Himalayan guide, and a government-licensed trekking professional. Born and raised in Nepal, he has personally trekked every major route in the country and designs every itinerary offered by the company.
Shreejan's family connection to Himalayan expeditions stretches back to the 1960s, when his grandfather Hari Lal Simkhada arranged logistics for international expeditions. His father, Ganesh Prasad Simkhada, has held senior positions in Nepal's tourism and mountaineering institutions including the Nepal Tourism Board and Nepal Mountaineering Association.
In 2019, Shreejan and his wife Shamjhana Basukala co-founded the Nagarjun Learning Center, providing free education and hot meals to 70 children in rural Nepal. The centre is verified and listed on the UN Partner Portal.
