How the Pokhara bungee jump works: the 80-metre jump at Hemja, the morning step by step, who can jump, what the price includes and the best months.

Updated 17 October 2026.

Short answer: Our Pokhara bungee jump is a morning trip from Lakeside to an 80-metre tower over a river gorge at Hemja. We pick you up from your hotel at about 8:00 in the morning, you get a full safety briefing, you jump, and we drive you back to your hotel. It costs USD 90 per person for two to four people, USD 120 for one person, USD 75 for five to eight and USD 70 for nine or more. Accident insurance for the jump, the ticket and the transfer are included. You must be 10 or older (under 18 with a parent or guardian) and weigh between 35 and 125 kg.

How does the morning run?

Pick-up. After breakfast, our representative collects you from your hotel in Pokhara. The drive to the bungee tower at Hemja is about 9 km. The drive takes about 25 minutes.

At the tower. You check in and get a full safety briefing from the certified jump masters. They explain the technique, show you the equipment and answer your last questions. You take off valuables and ornaments, and they fit the harness and ankle attachments.

The jump. You step onto the platform and fall 80 metres. After about five seconds of freefall the cord springs you back up, and you bounce while you look at the gorge, the river and the hills. Depending on the water level in the gorge, some jumpers touch or dip into the water before the rebound.

After the jump. You are lowered and unclipped. Take a few minutes for photos at the viewpoint and a drink, and our representative drives you back to your hotel.

Who should not bungee jump?

Bungee jumping is an extreme sport. It suits people in good physical and mental health who are 10 or older (under 18 with a parent or guardian) and weigh between 35 and 125 kg. It is not recommended if you are pregnant, have a heart condition, high blood pressure or a neurological disorder, have a serious back, neck or spine injury, are severely afraid of heights or have been drinking alcohol or taking drugs. If you have any health concern, ask your doctor before you book.

When is the best time to jump, month by month?

MonthsWhat to expect
March to MaySpring: mild temperatures, clear skies and green hills
Mid-June to AugustMonsoon: heavy rain and unsettled weather can affect operations
September to NovemberAutumn: clear mountain views and the steadiest weather of the year
December to FebruaryWinter: cooler, but visibility is excellent; bring a light jacket

The jump runs all year apart from the monsoon. Autumn gives the clearest mountain views.

Safety: what I can tell you, and what I cannot

The operator works with certified, internationally trained jump masters and checks the equipment before every jump. The tower has a full-body harness and ankle attachment system, tested cords, a safety briefing for every jumper, an emergency plan and first aid on site. I have not set out to promise you a risk-free jump, because no bungee jump is. What I can promise is that we use only the operator we know, and that we tell you plainly about the limits above. Accident cover for the jump is in the price. Buy your own travel insurance at home before you travel, and check that your policy covers bungee jumping.

How does it fit with the rest of Pokhara?

You are back at your hotel after the jump with the day ahead of you. For a full adrenaline day you can combine it with paragliding in Pokhara, which we price separately. The Pokhara city day tour and the Sarangkot sunrise tour fit the days around it. If you are heading to the mountains afterwards, the Annapurna Base Camp trek starts from Pokhara. For the full comparison of Pokhara activities, read Pokhara adventure activities compared, our bungee jumping in Nepal guide and the Pokhara paragliding guide. There is another bungee at Bhote Koshi, near the Tibet border, which we also offer as a day tour. It is about four hours each way by road, so for travellers already in Pokhara, Hemja is the easier choice.
