A Journey Through Time and Tradition: The Story of Prithivi Raj Kakshepati

In the ancient, brick-paved lanes of Bhaktapur, where the air smells of sun-dried clay and whispered history, my story is woven into the very fabric of the city. I am Prithivi Raj Kakshepati, born on the 19th of August, 1995, a son of this living museum. My address is not just a location; it is a coordinate of heritage: Bhaktapur  Bhollachhen, a place that has been my first classroom, my playground, and my sanctuary.

For sixteen years, my life has been an open dialogue with the soul of Nepal. I am not merely a guide; I am a storyteller, a bridge between the profound legacy of my ancestors and the curious eyes of the world. Authorized and deeply rooted in my craft, my vocation chose me as much as I chose it. Since my youth, I have walked these streets not as a passerby, but as an interpreter of the silent language spoken by the pagodas, the intricately carved windows, and the sacred courtyards.

My voice carries our narratives in multiple tongues. I speak the language of my homeland, the universal cadence of English, the familiar warmth of Hindi, and even a little of the melodic tones of Chinese—each one a key to unlocking a deeper connection with the guests who become friends. My hands are my tools, painting pictures in the air as I explain the symbolism of a torana or the legend behind a weathered stone statue.

Then came the great pause: the COVID-19 pandemic. When the world stood still and the footsteps in Durbar Square faded, my purpose did not. I believed that the magic of Bhaktapur should not be quarantined. In an act of faith and adaptation, I opened a virtual window to our heritage. With a camera and an unwavering passion, I conducted virtual tours for 147 schools and 7 colleges. From my humble base I reached across oceans and screens, bringing the echoes of our temples and the stories of our squares into classrooms worldwide. It was more than a service; it was a mission to ensure that the flame of curiosity and cultural appreciation kept burning, even in isolation.

Today, I stand once again on the physical ground of my city, but the horizon of my work has expanded forever. I am still that dedicated local guide, ready to show you the hidden corners and grand vistas. Yet, I am also the guide who learned to transcend walls, proving that heritage is resilient and stories are timeless.

I am Prithivi Raj Kakshepati. My legacy is the legacy of my city, and my joy is in sharing it with you—one step, or one click, at a time.
