Annapurna Region Treks — Circuit, Base Camp, Poon Hill and More (2026 Guide)
Annapurna Region Treks -- Circuit, Base Camp, Poon Hill and More (2026 Guide)
The Annapurna region is Nepal's most diverse trekking destination. Within a single region, you can walk through subtropical jungle at 1,000 metres, cross a 5,416-metre pass, explore the arid Tibetan landscapes of Upper Mustang, and stand beneath the tenth highest mountain on Earth -- all without repeating a single section of trail.
I'm Shreejan Simkhada, CEO of The Everest Holiday. Here's my honest comparison of every Annapurna region trek we offer, from the 6-day Poon Hill walk to the 16-day Circuit with Tilicho Lake.
The Annapurna Region at a Glance
The Annapurna Conservation Area (ACAP) is the largest protected area in Nepal and one of the most visited trekking regions in the world. It surrounds the Annapurna massif -- a 55-kilometre ridge containing one 8,000-metre peak (Annapurna I, 8,091m) and thirteen peaks above 7,000 metres. The region is accessible from Pokhara, Nepal's second city, just a 25-minute flight or 6-hour drive from Kathmandu.
