Yala Peak Climbing, a beautiful trekking experience that leads all the way to the summit of Yala Peak (5550 m), is an easy mountaineering experience within a short period of time, in the Langtang Region of Nepal. You will be rewarded by the spectacular views of Mountains dominated by the Lantang Lirung, Dorje Lakapa and Shisapagma. Due to its average height, it has attracted many climbers in the recent period. The climb doesn’t require any technical skills but is physically challenging. The use of fixed rope and crampons become handy in the steep ice section of the final climb. Apart from conquering the Himalayan summit, the trekking is itself an exciting adventure. You will closely experience the Himalayan lifestyles and Tibetan culture in its pristine form. You will also be amazed by the turquoise Lakes, massive glaciers and high passes on the way.

Yala peak is at an elevation of 5732 meters and is suitable for novice trekkers.
Yala peak situated in the Langtang region, in close proximity to Tibet and offering astounding views of the Himalayas. At the summit you can see Mount Manaslu, Langtang Lirung, Dorje Lakpa, Naya Kang, Ganesh Himal, Shishapangma, Gangchempo. The sights from the top of Yala Peak are truly spectacular.


Yala peak can be combined with the Langtang Valley trek in which you can experience the local Tamang culture and way of life. The Tamang people have lived amongst the mountains for centuries and carry a culture deeply intertwined with the mountains. Itinerary Overview

DAY:1 Arrival at Kathmandu

You will be warmly welcomed by our representative at Tribhuwan International Airport and taken to your hotel by a private vehicle.

DAY:2 Kathmandu to Dhunche

From Kathmandu you will travel to Dhunche, a spectacular ride through the Himalayan foothills with majestic glimpses of rivers, forests and mountain tops.  This will take approximately 8 hours.

DAY:3 Dhunche to Syabru Gaon

The trek to Yala Peak begins in Dhunche, passing through forests and terraced hill slopes up to Syabru. Then, your trek will take you down to ridgeline separating Langtang Khola from Trisuli river and move ahead to reach at your campsite for an overnight stay in a local village.

DAY:4 Syabru Gaon to Lama hotel

From Syabru Gaon, you and your guide will trek along an ancient footpath following the Langtang Valley. This breathtaking walk will take you through some of the most magnificent wildlife Nepal has to offer.  You will pass through a bamboo forest where Red Pandas and Bearded Monkeys are frequently seen, and catch glimpses of the peaks of the Himalayas towing above you. Your climb will finish with a descent to the Lama Hotel situated along a tranquil glacial river.

DAY:5 Lama hotel to Langtang valley via Ghore Tabela

From Lama Hotel, you will head toward Langtang village via Ghore Tabela Trail, passing green meadows utilized to graze Yak and livestock for the local people. Along the way, you have the chance to explore local Stupas and Tibetan Buddhist Monasteries as you approach Langtang valley. 

DAY:5 Langtang valley to Kyanjing

You will begin hike past the treeline and into Langtang, ascending through trails that pass through the small villages of the local Tamang and Tibetan peoples. Yaks and yak pastures become commonplace and views of the mighty Himalayas will surround you in every direction. You can expect to cross small streams and moraines until you reach Kyanjing to enjoy panoramic views of the Kyanjing Ri, Tsergo Ri, Ganja la, Langshi Sa- Ri, Dorji Lhakpa mountains.

DAY:6 Rest at Kyanjing

Take one day to rest at Kyanjing and explore the serene beauty of this high altitude location. A Tibetan monastery, local yak cheese factory, and views of the Langtang Lirung glacier can all be seen  on your day off. Wind down with a cup of warm Nepali tea, and delicious local food at your hotel, before setting of on the next leg of your journey the following day.

DAY:7 Kyangjin Gompa to Yak Kharka

From Kyangjin, you will trek on flat trail past many Buddhist Gompas until passing Langtang Khola. From here, you will begin your ascent upward enjoying breathtaking views of Mount Ganchenpo and Naya Kang, eventually arriving at Yak Kharka.

DAY:8 Yak Kharka to Yala Base Camp

You will follow your guide along the rocky glacier trail ascending to the Yala base camp. Views of Mount Ganchepo, Naya Kang, Tserko ri, Langtang Lirung take the foreground as you climb higher into the Himalayan mountains. You will rest at Yala Base camp and prepare for the next days journey to Yala Summit

DAY:9 Yala Base Camp to Yala peak and descend to Yak Kharka

You will finally climb up to the top of Yala peak and stay for short span of time to take in the captivating panorama of several snowy mountains including Shishapangma; fourteenth highest peak in the world that lies in Tibet, Dorje lakpa, Ganchenpo, Tserko Ri, Langtang lirung. You will then descend back to Yak Kharka for an overnight stay.

DAY:10 Yak Kharka to Kyangjin

From Yak Kharka you will trek downhill back to Kyangjing.

DAY:11 Kyanjing to Lama hotel

From Kyanjing. you will walk back to Lama hotel, enjoying views of your opposing direction from your previous climb. This six hour hike will recapture all those fabulous mountain views on the way, and show glimpse of westerly lying peaks in the background.

DAY:12 Lama hotel to Syabrubesi

We willl trek from Lama Hotel to Syabrubesi, a small village situated on a road linking Nepal and China to the north.

DAY:13 Syabrubesi to Kathmandu return drive

Return to Kathmandu from Syabrubesi on a 7 hour drive descending the Himalayan Foothills.

DAY:14 Return Flight

We will then drive you to airport on the basis of your scheduled flight.

DAY:14 Return Flight

We will then drive you to airport on the basis of your scheduled flight.

  • Climbing permit fee:

US$ 350 for the group up to 4 people

US$ 350 + US$ 40 for the group of 1 to 5 people in a group

Apart from the climbing fee you have to pay US $ 300 as Sirdar's climbing and equipment fees. This is as per the rule of NMA (Nepal Mountaineering Association).

  • Deposit for Garbage Disposal fee is US$ 250 per peak for the group (this deposit is refundable to you after the completion of climb)

Food

 You would be offered breakfast, nepali meal at homestay during time at Kathmandu while on trekking you would be provided Nepalese meals three times a day whereas during climbing fresh, hygienic food in terms of water and cooking method would be provided.

Accomodation

You would be accommodated at Nagarjun home stay with services of hot water, western toilets, electricity, television, free WIFI during Kathmandu stay whereas offered to stay at teahouses with facilities granted by teahouses during trek and you would be offered accommodation on along with sleeping bag and foam mattress during expedition.
