Island peak climbing named as Imja Tse is located on scenic upper Imja valley of Khumbu region. The peak suitable for novice climbers who expect little more challenge on their trekking is categorized as moderate peak climbing of Everest region.

The peak could be climbed in both spring and autumn season following same Everest Base Camp trail from Lukla for magnetic three hundred sixty-degree vision of many snow covered Himalayan mountains including Nuptse, Lhotse, Lhotse Shar, Lhotse Middle peak, Ama Dablam and many more.

Itinerary Overview

Day One:

 You will be warmly welcomed by our representative on Tribhuvan International Airport and transferred to hotel by private vehicle.

 

 

Day Two:

After hair-raising flight from Kathmandu to Lukla airstrip, the trek begins heading to north from Lukla village trekking along the bank of Dudh Koshi river on gradually sloppy trail passing through Ghat villages to reach Phakding; beautiful village encircled by snowcapped peaks and settled by culturally graceful Sherpa people.

 

Day Three

We cross Dudh Koshi river and walk on easy path for short duration up to Monjo and Jorsale then climb steep uphill catching first glimpse of Everest to arrive at Namche Bazaar. We can explore several village monasteries spreading message of love and peace through their fluttering prayer flags and in scripted stone walls on our way to Namche from Phakding.

Day Four

 Rest day at Namche Bazaar for acclimatization. It is recommended to have short day hike to Thame, Khumjung or Khunde for acclimatization.

Day Five:

We leave Namche moving on narrower and less paved path that runs through Kyangjuma, Sanasa and we cross long suspension bridges to reach Tangboche; tranquil village nestled on the backdrop of mountains. We explore old monastery Tangboche monastery, largest in the Khumbu region.

Day Six:

We walk downhill path from Tangboche and cross Imja Khola to climb elevated trail that heads to Pangboche village then we trek on gently upward trail full of thorny and juniper bushes to arrive at Dingboche for overnight stay.

Day Seven:

We leave Dingboche trekking across the vast plains to reach Thukla then we ascend the steep Dughla pass to arrive Dughla. Finally, we trek steep uphill for an hour to find ourselves on Lobuche for overnight stay.

Day Eight:  

We continue our journey along gradually uphill path to the east of chukung valley. You can enjoy beautiful views of Mt. Lhotse and Amadablamon our approximately four hours’ trek on rocky trail.

 

 

Day Nine:

 We lead our trekking on steep trail to south crossing the river at beginning and following a beautiful valley for two hours up to base camp. We can enjoy picturesque vision of several mountains like Ama Dablam, Nuptse, Lhotse and so on.

Day Ten and Eleven:

 We cross gully above the camp following the uphill trail for hours that leads to glaciers. The preparation for interesting part of climb glacier crossing is done on this place putting on our crampons and rope up. Then we ascend summit top following steep snow slope trail and have dramatic views of mountains from top of summit. Then, we descend to island base camp retracing same trail.

Day Twelve:

Trek Island Peak Base Camp to Chhukung which takes about three hours.

 

 

Day Thirteen:

We trek along downhill trail to Chukung then move to Dingboche for lunch. Finally, after couple of hours trekking we reach at beautiful village Pangboche for overnight stay.

Day Fourteen:

We proceed our journey trekking on gently downhill trail then cross Phortse Tenga to climb steep up to Mongla then trek slightly down to Khumjung. We pass monasteries, chortens, mani walls and prayer flags and perceive breathtaking vision of Ama Dablam, Lhotse, Nuptse Everest and many more.

Day Fifteen:

 We leave Khumjung trekking downhill trail that passes Namche consuming about five hours.

Day Sixteen:  

We trek to Lukla leaving Monjo taking about four and half hours.

Day Seventeen:

Return flight to Kathmandu from Lukla peeping snowy mountains and green scenery from windows of plane.

Day Eighteen:

We drive you to airport on the basis of your scheduled flight.

Cost Excluded

  • Climbing permit fee:

US$ 350 for the group upto 4 people

US$ 350 + US$ 40 for the group of 1 to 5 people in a group

Apart from the climbing fee you have to pay US $ 300 as Sirdar's climbing and equipment fees. This is as per the rule of NMA (Nepal Mountaineering Association).

  • Deposit for Garbage Disposal fee is US$ 250 per peak for the group (this deposit is refundable to you after the completion of climb)

Accommodation: You would be accommodated at Nagarjun home stay with services of hot water, western toilets, electricity, television, free WIFI during Kathmandu stay whereas offered to stay at teahouses with facilities granted by teahouses during trek and you would be offered accommodation on along with sleeping bag and foam mattress during expedition.


Meal: You would be offered breakfast, nepali meal at homestay during time at Kathmandu while on trekking you would be provided Nepalese meals three times a day whereas during climbing fresh, hygienic food in terms of water and cooking method would be provided.
