Helambu Gosainkund trek takes you to breathtaking mountain scenery embracing rapturous glimpses of snowy peaks including Langtang Lirung, Ganesh Himal, verdant fields, smoothly flowing rivers and waters spilling from the top of the hill, along with cultural enthrallment. Incredible trek combines two famed but diverse trekking destination Helambu, closest to capital city Kathmandu; which is patchwork of religiously and culturally elegant rustic villages whereas another Gosainkund nestled on northeast of Helambu comprising chain of sacred high altitude lakes such as Gosainkund, Nagkund, Bhairavkund, Suryakund, Saraswatikund where thousands of pilgrims’ flock each and every year during special festival of Janai Purnima to take dip on icy water of holy Gosainkund lake which was created by Lord Shiva piercing the trident according to Hindu mythology.

Helambu Gosainkund trek starts from Syabrubesi; which is a jumping point of the trek, after almost 9 hours’ audacious drive from Kathmandu along curvy, narrow and winding roads of the mountainside. Then follow a steady ascending trail along Langtang Khola that runs amidst dense forests of bamboo, pine and rhododendron to reach Gosainkund at an elevation of 4380 meters from sea level then indulge on the beauty unfurled by glaciated lakes at the backdrop of snow-clad mountains. Then cross Lauribinayak la pass reaching the highest point of the trek at height of almost 4610 meters before trekking on the downhill trail to arrive at culturally enlivened trekking spot Helambu to make trekking once a lifetime journey.  

Itinerary Overview

Day 01: Arrival at Kathmandu

You will be warmly welcomed by our representative at Tribhuwan International Airport and transferred to the hotel by private vehicle.

Day 02: Kathmandu to Dhunche

Trek begins after nine hours’ drive from Kathmandu to Syabrubesi heading to the north along the road on the bank of Trisuli river. You can go either by public bus or private vehicle but private vehicles are safe and highly recommended. You can observe the Chilime hydropower plant on Syabrubesi designed on the run-of-the-river model.

Day 03: Dhunche to Sing Gompa via Dursagang

We pass through schools and gompas climbing the trail through the oak forest until we reach Dursagang. We gently ascend for some distance then walk along the flat path to reach Sing Gompa for overnight stay.

Day 04: Sing Gompa to Gosainkund via Lauribinayak la

You move from Sing Gompa on five hours’ trek crossing Lauribinayak la following rugged trail with dramatic views of several snow-clad mountains to reach Gosainkund, sacred lake generated by Lord Shiva piercing the glacier with his trident.

Day 05: Gosainkund to Ghopte

We trek to Ghopte climbing the trail until we reach Lauribinayak la then drop down to gradually to Phedi and move ahead along the trail that runs to Ghopte. 

Day 06: Ghopte to Melamchi gaun through Tharepati pass

We ascend the barren hill to reach Tharepati's viewpoint for observing DorjeLakpa, Jugal Himal, Gauri Shankar then descend through a lush forest of rhododendron, oak and pines to reach Melamchi for overnight stay.

Day 07: Melamchi gaun to tarke ghyang

We walk to tarkey ghyang from Melamchi gaun. we walk through the forest. we can see yangri danda, sherpa cultural.

Day 08:Tarke ghyang to sherme thang

We will walk to sherme thang from tarke ghyang. we will pass through a beautiful forest. we can see the cultivation area of Helambu cultural.

Day 09: Sherme thang to Kakani danda

We can see the Budish culture in that place. we need to walk in plain land and downward.

 Day 10: Kakani danda to Duvo Chowor to Melamchi bazar to Kathmandu

Drive from Melamchi to Kathmandu

Day 09: Return Flight

We drive you to the airport on the basis of your scheduled flight.

Food

No meals are included on the cost but our staff and guide will help you get access to the best restaurants and hotels in Kathmandu and also help you get access to good organic and healthy meals during your trek. Our sister Agency Everest Trekkers Fuel is also the sole provider of freeze-dry trekking and climbing meals and can be provided to you with small Additional Cost.

Accomodation

 You would recommend you accommodated at Nagarjun homestay with facilities of hot water, western toilets, electricity, television, free WIFI during Kathmandu stay. And recommend you to stay at teahouses with facilities granted by teahouses during a trek. But the cost does not include any accommodation. Our guide and staff will help you to get access to the best accommodation at the budget value.
